Yan Feng Gu gets back to the Silk Road to show his newest achievements ^^

Trained under a famous Chinese monk who believed that since life is suffering, we just have to increase our pain threshold by constant contortion practice. By getting to the higher threshold, we overcome the suffering of life and there's nothing in the world we cannot do without a smile in the ultimate state of liberation (nirvana).

The philosophy managed to fold many promising youths into this belief system and trained some of the most flexible performers in China, surpassing even some mythical creatures. Some of the quotes from the monk:

"No pose in this world is too difficult, but thinking makes it seem so. Where there is true will, there is always a silk road."

"Can't bend backwards through the same legs twice? You're thinking too much again!"

"The lesson of all scriptures concerns only non-contortion stuff. The only thing you can learn from a book is how to fold like a book."

Wushu experts would love to be able to do this! Every year around Christmas a Chinese acrobatic theater group tours the Northeastern USA and the company sends out tons of promotional mailings. This could almost be a photo from them. Except their costumes are a riot of colours! The hat's spot on, btw (but you already know that). :D Read more

Back when the internet was green there used to be a webpage entitled "Soft Bone Kung Fu" with some pictures in similar outfits, I liked the title and the outfits, those clothes indeed helped to give the impression of them having bendable bones :D Read more

He had many periods in his long life, this is probably some centuries ago when he worked on the Silk Road...

But makes me wonder what he would look like doing extreme oversplits when his body was separated :D Read more

I doubt that any of my works are chronological, this pic for example seems to be from the period when he worked on the Silk Road, I mean he's 800 years old and every 100 years becomes a boy again, so I bet there was a lot of things to tell.

Still wanna do more with his separation curse, just was looking at his 3 separation pics and thought they're not incredibly imaginative, just laying around while split in half, so was trying to think of something more interesting instead of making another one like that 😅 Read more
