Fr. is a unit of measure, specifc to urology tools like catheters and sounds. Fr. (French) is the diameter of the object (in mm) x 3. So 1mm diameter = 3 Fr., 2mm = 6 Fr., 3mm = 9 Fr., etc. A 10mm diameter sound would be 30 Fr.
Sounds and catheters go up in single digit increments, Fr. 3,4,5, etc. which are very small but feel dramtically different, especially as you reach your current capacity.
