Dr. Why's story from the Potcast 1 at 19:33 and an image to go with it ðē
"Take a look, doc," Jack said, gesturing towards the screen that concealed their latest achievement. "I think we've finally cracked it. Or should I say, I think we've managed to get the ball rolling."
With a cough, Dr. Why pulled back the screen to reveal an extraordinary sight. A naked young man lay before them, his body twisted and contorted into a shape that defied belief. It was as if he had no spine or bones, and his limbs were stretched and distorted in ways that seemed impossible... and extremely captivating!
Jack and his team had been working tirelessly on their latest invention for months. It was a truly "bonebreaking" set of physical exercises, medical treatments, and manipulations that were designed to make the human body incredibly flexible, surpassing anything that had been previously achieved in contortionism.
"What do you think, doc?" Jack asked, his voice filled with excitement.
Dr. Why's eyes widened as he took in the sight before him. "I think... the world is not ready to see this yet," he said slowly. "This is a power that should not be unleashed lightly."
Jack nodded, understanding the gravity of what they had created. But he also knew that their discovery could change the world for the better, and he was determined to see that in his lifetime.
"We'll keep working on him," Jack said firmly. "And when the time is right, we'll share our discovery with the world. I'm certain we'll get a Nobel Prize in contortion!"

As they watched their subject stretch and contort in ways that seemed truly superhuman, they couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and wonder. They knew that they were on the brink of something incredible, and they were determined to see it through to its full potential.
But as they delved deeper into their research, they began to realize that there was a dark side to their work. The more they pushed the boundaries of what was possible with the human body, the more they realized that they were playing with fire that could put aflame everything it touched.
And when they finally unleashed their creation on the world, they couldn't help but feel a sense of dread and regret. For they had created something truly monstrous, something that would change the course of history forever.
As their subject began to spread its twisted influence across the globe like a wildfire, the newspapers were filled with sensational headlines: "Unbreakable Creature Breaks Free!" "The Bend is Near!" "Flexipox!!!"
Dr. Why and his team were faced with a difficult choice: should they embrace their creation and use it for their own gain, or should they try to stop it before it was too late?
In the end, they chose the latter, and they set out on a dangerous journey, but as they soon discovered, it was no easy task. For the creature was hyperflexible, painproof, and determined to survive at any cost.

The creature's remarkable flexibility enabled it to manipulate and control innocent individuals in unpredictable ways. For instance, it could disguise itself as a harmless, handsome boy before suddenly overwhelming its prey's senses with its superhuman elasticity.
Upon being manipulated by the creature, victims became entranced and infatuated with contortionism, dedicating all their time to relentless stretching exercises. As a result, they neglected their basic needs, including eating, leading to malnutrition and emaciated bodies similar to that of the creature.
Over time, they trained themselves to contort into shapes similar to the creature's. They transformed into beings with superhuman flexibility and elasticity, becoming creatures in their own right.

But it was only the beginning of the complete chaos that would soon engulf the world, causing mass contortion and upheaval on an unprecedented scale within just a few short months. The creature's influence had spread far and wide, leaving no human spine unfolded and unaffected by its elastic powers.
The scientists who had created the creature realized too late that their discovery would bring about the bend of humanity as they knew it. They knew that they would never be able to defeat the elastic beings, but they held onto hope that one day they would find a way to coexist with them peacefully.
The few remaining humans who had managed to keep their spines straight were forced to live in hiding, constantly looking over their shoulders for any sign of their own butts trying to take a seat on them.
And so, the world remained in a state of constant thrill, with no hope of escape from the grasp of the elastic beings. They had taken over, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop them.
It was the bend of the fold as we knot it...
