I tried my hand a little at trying to write a prequel about Yalura's pre-slavery years (posted in a reply to your comment) to add some necessary flexibility to his character and think why he never truly regretted what happened. Maybe it was cognitive dissonance on his part, not being able to escape his new reality, he made peace with it and began to despise his former life, finding it limiting in its superficial "freedom", while slavery allowed him to flourish to his true potential. I think some bits may not be aligned properly with your vision but for me it was quite a stretch to keep up as I'm not used to writing complex stories and it shows 🤣

I think it would be amazing to repost your two stories officially on this website to make it easier to access them. Sadly we don't have many visitors here but I try my best to gather all the content together regardless, even if it's only for a few people.
