Weresnails are notorious for their strange addiction to piercing due to an insane amount of nerve endings distributed throughout their whole body, so much that they even have a small niche in the market where every self-respecting snail can buy all kinds of curious items and devices related to this national interest of theirs.
Thanks to their unique genes and metabolism, their body is not only capable of shape-shifting but also regenerating its original shape with ideal precision, capping every hole caused by piercing within a mere 2-3 days, without leaving any scars or traces. That makes it possible for snails to vary the design of their piercings to their own liking during their extremely long lifetime of 700+ years, as well as treat their body according to their boredom level. While the older snails "have already seen it all", youths love to experiment with their bodies a lot.

The act of insemination takes several hours of very slow, sluggish mating until a deep hole is made inside the parent's belly, normally via the belly button, then filled with gallons of glowing slime which somewhat reminds of human semen except this slimy matter doesn't need a womb and can grow on its own, provided it's fed by the parent's cells surrounding it :3
But they would be mermaids who would produce their eggs in their mouth and once fertile, they would pass the egg to another mermaid like a french kiss . One of the mermaids would swallow this egg whole. This is how they do until they have hundreds of eggs stored in their bellies, giving them the appearance of pregnant women. When the babies are ready to be born, these eggs hatch inside their bellies, the babies eat what is left of the eggs and when there is no more, they become very agitated, causing a mixture of pain and pleasure for the mermaid mother. Their birth will be similar to that of seahorses. The babies, after being agitated, look for space to get out, and the navel becomes the ideal place for the birth of hundreds and hundreds of new mermaids!! what do you think?
