I wouldn't care less about decency, in my art clothes appear to make pictures more stylish and look better, so they're part of the composition and serve a certain purpose, just like lighting, pose, camera angle, post-processing and so on. If his shorts are on, it means without them the picture would have had different accents and look worse in my opinion. It's like making it too bright or too dark would make it look like shit, it's just a different kind of exposure :D
