🌬️ Backbend to the End
I watched the backbend to the end
To see what I could find, and then
I found myself in just such pose
That made my knees begin to close.
My arms were up, my chest was out
The feeling good inside began to sprout.
My head looked back, as if it knew
There was something there for me to do.
But soon enough I felt so high
That I thought I would begin to fly.
I started to wonder how I might
Explain this strange sensation right.
Then it occurred to me quite clear
This must be what they call a fear.
For suddenly my body seemed to sway
And I thought that I might fall away.
But with my breath and with some grace
I managed to hold my space.
Once more I arched, once more I bent
Until at last I reached the end.
And when I straightened up again
The fear had vanished, gone away.
No more did I doubt or dread
The power of the simple backbend.
So now each day I'm sure to try
To bend a bit, reach for the sky.
For deep within that arc of bone
Is where we find our strength alone.
It's not just bending, but embracing life
An act that keeps us free from strife.
So let your heart take flight
Underneath the moonlight.
Let go of all you know
To feel your spirit grow.
In every pose, remember this:
There is a path that leads to bliss.
