Athena

Needed a character design for the Greek goddess Athena for a project I'm working on ^_^

Her official design is on the left but I made a nude version because it was a tradition in the ancient world to depict warriors and heroes in the nude – even great kings like Alexander would appear completely naked before artists and sculptors *giggle*

The amusing fact is that Athena was given the title of Goddess of War, but she prefers to think of herself as a peace-bringer and actually tries to resolve conflicts rather than incite them, except she doesn't do that in any diplomatic way – she simply takes one of the sides she deems righteous and offers "divine" help to crush the other, even if it's basically invading and ruining their home land – like she did with Troy. The people whose side she takes also praise her as the Goddess of Wisdom.

Because of that, kings of all lands always try to please her by sacrificing the best of men, and occasionally women since Athena is a major tomboy and loves her the taste of a good chick every once in a while.

She also has a personal divine army consisting of the same those who were sacrificed to her – she always tries to keep them in a good shape as warriors, although that army is only avaible on special occasions, normally she'd just support the local allies.
