I thought it looked like a combo of Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2, after all both were created by the same author 🤭
I actually watched many years ago even half of Urusei Yatsura from same author and first like 20-30 episodes are just hilarious and funny or they seemed to me at that time.
I do like Inuyasha style bit better. Ranma was not bad but for some reason everything about it felt just little worse including visuals.

Never watched Urusei Yatsure, thanks for reminding me, will need to take a look at it. Rumiko Takahashi has a great sense of humor.
I watched the original Ranma series recently and seemed pretty good to me, in fact all the jokes and situations are much funnier in Ranma than in Inuyasha. In Inuyasha, I don't recall much humor at all, other than "Inuyasha sit down". But you're right about visuals, in Ranma the character designs are not so bright... Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, Shippou, Miroku are all memorable characters... In Ranma, I think it's a major disadvantage that Ranma girl and Ranma boy look like two different characters, they could have looked like the same character just changing genders but instead look like a bro and a sis who are not even twins.
