Waist-Cinching Culture

Beltimore, the capital of waist-cinching, was not short on wasped youths even in the outskirts. Tourists would come just to marvel at their tiny waists, as small as they were three hundred years ago, during the infamous famine that ravaged Beltimore's population and led to a food shortage so severe that even the wealthy families resorted to tightening their belts for survival.

As a result of this intense struggle, a unique cultural norm emerged in Beltimore: an obsession with thin waist that most people honed from early childhood through tight lacing practices involving restrictive garments. The obsession had become so ingrained in the culture that it was seen as a mark of beauty and grace, all individuals possessing such a figure enjoyed elevated social status and many privileges in support of their efforts.

Many generations later, this tradition persisted without change and was incorporated into every aspect of life in Beltimore, be it fashion, dance or sporting events, where young rhythmic gymnasts competed in intricate routines while wearing the narrowests belts possible, leaving everyone breathless with awe.

One such gymnast was Elian. He began his training at the age when most children start learning to walk, his mother stretching him daily until he could bend backwards enough to loop himself and pass through his own legs. As time went on, his talent blossomed, evolving Elian into a full-fledged contortionist, effortlessly twisting himself as if his bones were made of rubber.

But as he approached the age of 8, it was time for him to enter the world of waist cinching and begin his journey towards becoming a true Beltimorean. His mother bought him his first belt, nothing too extreme, just enough to start shaping his body into the perfect hourglass form. Every day, she would tighten it a little more, while he continued to push his limits to be able to do his usual contortions in this new constricted state.

Elian's progress was astounding, his waist shrinking at unreal rate, drawing gasps from everyone who saw him perform his gymnastic feats. At first, it was exhilarating, but as he kept pushing harder, he managed to regain his flexibility to do even more impressive stunts than before. The tight belt slicing his body in two almost separate halves almost seemed to be making it even easier for him to fold in half in every imaginable direction.

The Ruppel backbend became his favorite, a move that involved bending so far backward that his head and shoulders passed between his legs, interlocking his body with the thighs placed in his arm pits. At first, it required immense effort to do with the waist cinched to the same size as his neck, but with practice, he learned to lay on his bed in this position for a good hour or two, while reading his favorite fashion magazines about the latest trends in tight belting techniques and designs.

His fascination with fashion grew alongside his obsession with thin waists and rhythmic gymnastics. As he turned 16, Eli won a prestigious beauty contest held annually in Beltimore. He took hearts by storm with his tiny waist and his favorite black leotard, tailored to fit snugly against his skin, its long sleeves reaching down to his wrists, the legs cut high up almost to the waistline. Its neck line had been raised all the way to his chin, giving it a comfy look while also secretly making any onlooker unconsciously compare his neck and waist size, marveling at how narrow they both were.

With every movement he made on stage, the fabric clung to his slender frame like a second skin, highlighting the incredible results of years of intense training. His performance was flawless, impressing everyone present with his grace and control, especially when he executed the Ruppel backbend with such ease as if it was a simple dance move. In that moment, when he bent backwards through his own legs, then spread his arms wide on the other side, he felt so free, powerful, and beautiful.

Elian's precious face and long blond hair were perfect for sporting the winner's tiara, which complemented his gleaming grin and gave him the appearance of a prince charming straight from a fairytale. His victory ignited a frenzy among his fans and rivals alike, who went crazy about his ability to bend himself into the most unnatural positions without losing an ounce of elegance.

Soon, many other young men from across Beltimore sought to emulate their new hero, joining gyms and training camps where they could learn the secrets of stretching. With each passing day, more and more boys dreamt of becoming the next Eli, pushing themselves to master the arts of yoga, ballet, acrobatics, gymnastics, martial arts and belly dancing to spice up their repertoire with unique moves that would make them stand out in the highly competitive world of tight belting.

The cultural obsession with thin waists showed no signs of waning, and instead continued to grow stronger than ever before, inspired by the success story of Elian Aiden Ondinus, the boy who could bend backward through his own legs, wearing the tightest belt imaginable, and never losing his charm and beauty while doing so!

What do you think? 😄
Elian sure has an interesting story and his excelling in the backbends and attracting attention sure is cool, the whole premise of this trend coming from famine was a nice touch too! And what a beautiful person too, love the cinch’s waist and simple buckle💝
Thank you so much! 🥰 I usually make illustrations just for fun, but afterwards it's also interesting to look at them and figure out where all the parts come from, like the leotard making me think of gymnastics, and the model-like hairstyle and face feel like he could be a gymnast-turned-model. The background made me feel like he's a modern person but living in a place that's many centuries old, probably with some local traditions too.

Putting it all together is a nice exercise. I'm in no way a professional writer, I'm only trying to make texts that match the pictures, but under almost every story you'll find comments from people who enjoyed the read, so that's what matters 😊 I also think it's more pleasant to look at the picture for 5 minutes while reading than for 5 seconds when it's just a picture without a text.
I like the leotard + baggy pants combo :)
A friend many years ago actually dressed like that to college, just without the belt. A bit of bare skin on the hips was very stylish.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
